Mega Man X was a great series.

User Rating: 7.3 | Mega Man X Collection GC
If you are like me and you wanted to buy the first three Mega Man X titles for the Super Nintendo but didn't want to drop about 100 dollars, then this collection is meant for you. I have always contemplated repurchasing Mega Man X, X2, and X3 for my Super Nintendo but the price was always a deterrant, this collection remedies that problem. The same problem that plagued the original Mega Man collection on the gamecube is still present in this collection: difficult controls. That is the reason why I only gave the gameplay a 7, the controls can be quite annoying at times. Unresponsive controls in a game that requires you to do many things mid-jump to avoid death is not a good thing. The graphics are about as good as can be expected with many of the games hailing from the era of the SNES. Sound is another thing that bothered me about this collection. The music is completely tuned out by the sound of X charging his blaster. I haven't experimented a lot to see if you can turn the sound effects volume down but I have a feeling that you cannot. Despite these minor flaws, this is still a very good collection. If you liked any of the Mega Man X games (even just the super nintento ones like I do) then it is worth buying this collection due to the fact that even at release it was not very expensive. I recommend this game for any gamer who enjoys the Mega Man X series or anyone who likes to reminisce about the glory days of 2D side scrolling shooters.
