This will give you the right taste of Mega Man without the difficulty of 2 or 3

User Rating: 7.5 | Rockman 6: Shijou Saidai no Tatakai!! NES
Storyline: 5/10
Most Mega Man games aren't expected to have outstanding storylines, but this one did somewhat attempt one. Again, you probably won't even remember what the whole story is about by the time you get to the end.

Game play: 9/10
Rarely will this game give you any trouble in this department. If you've played a REAL Mega Man game before, you should slip into the groove right away. If not, it might take some time to get the feel of jumping, sliding and shooting at the right times. It's not going to glitch on you like earlier games of the series might have.

Play-back: 6/10
This is probably a once-a-year game for most. Just beating the game if you aren't familiar with the series will take you a while.

Graphics: 9/10
Graphics: Just your normal, honest-to-goodness 8-bit Mega Man graphics. Not a whole lot of improvement happened from 4-6. The game wasn't built on graphics alone like so many of today's games are, but they don't distract from the game play, which is what is really important.

Sound: 8/10
Mega Man games have been known for their great soundtracks. While you probably can't compare them to memorable tracks like Dr Wily's first castle stage from MM2, the great music is still present, just as you'd expect, driving you on to completion.

Relation to other games in the series:
It's pretty much the same old Mega Man, except that Rush will unite with you for a new suit instead of being able to ride him as in the previous games. It's also the second game in which Beat is available.

Cons:
It's a great introduction to the series for gamers that have been around a while, but never got around to Mega Man, but newbie gamers are going to have a tough time getting past any given level.

Total: 7.5/10

My advice: If you have an NES or it's available on your Virtual Console: Buy it if you like getting back to the 8-bit era. Most Present-Generation gamers will blow it off as an old, primitive game.
