Is Mega Man 3 as good or better than Mega Man 2?

Although Mega Man 3 might the best game in the classic series there's enough things to bring this from what could be an amazing game to just an okay game. The gameplay is still that run and shoot classic Mega Man gameplay with some new variations such as sliding. The bosses are a mixed-bag, some can be fun like Gemini Man and some are frustrating like Shadow Man and weapons that you get from the bosses are just boring, the only weapons worth anything is Shadow Blade (which is just a water-down version of Metal Blade) and Magnet Missile which is over-powered. After you beat the first eight bosses you fight the Mega Man 2 robot masters which you think would be fun but instead just feels like filler and artificially lengthens the game. But it's not like there's not anything that makes Mega Man 3 enjoyable, sliding is fun and gives you more control of Mega Man, there's also Mega Man's pet dog rush who replaces Item 1, 2, and 3, and you get to fight Proto Man, Mega Man's brother who will show up to fight and if you beat him he'll let you through. These additions are both innovating and would later be used in Mega Man games. Overall, Mega Man 3 is a pretty good game and is still fun to play.
