truely epic... once in a while a game like this does come out!

User Rating: 10 | Medieval II: Total War PC
Epic game, full of depth and realism. Ability to control thousands of units in real battle, I was ability to win a battle where the odds were heavily stacked against me and it feels great. The key of battle in this game is morale, and being ability to route your opponents, such as implementing strategies like attacking from the flank or fromthe side while the enemy is busy. Archers also play a pivotal role, if you choose to attack with your infantry while archers are free falling on you well, it won't turn so well. Also cavalry plays an important role, as their only true weakness is spearmen, they are a ble to charge headlong into a unit and cause disatrous results. You are also able to level up your units with experience points and get your general unique abilities the more battles he wins. My general at one point lost 5 of his own men and cause over 100 casualties. I won a battle that had 4:7 odds against me, through planning and timing.

The game is not only pure combat, even though the combat is epic, and has beautiful graphics, gamespot says you need a beefy system, well i bought this pc over 5 years ago and I havem't had one lag problem. The economic world is also interesting, pleasing the pope and making holy crusades is fun, and meeting certain map objectives. There is only about half a dozen missions in the main campaign but you will spend so much time going back and forth redoing new strategies and picking different races that you won't be disappointed. Cutscenes and videos are implemented cleverly, with no load times, and great scenes.

Fantastic game, didn't think I could lose sleep over a game again but this one's doing it.
