A worthy successor to Rome: Total War, but it loses some of the magic.
The good:
M2: TW Keeps the same relative feel as Rome, but with enhanced graphics, overall look is better, albeit a little more complicated.
Has the very best mods for Total war games, like third age, Stainless steel, etc.
The best thing they did was make the graphics good, btu not so great as to slow down the average PC on massive battles. I dont know why they try to make the graphics better for every TW game, i would rather have decent graphics on a huge scale than amazing graphics on a mid sized scale.
in this case, i believe quantity is better than quality, but with solid quality, which Medieval 2 total war delivers perfectly.
The bad:
A little more buggy than Rome, escpecially when it comes to defending city walls and tryign to move units on to the walls.
Not as balanced as other TW games, even though it historically makes sense, the gameplay loses a bit from it.
Overall: this is an excellent game, and if you liked R:TW than this is a deffinate must buy. I reccomend the Third age mod, which is truly stunning.
