As a gamer and a vet I don't see what all the hate is for.

I came into this game thinking fondly of my experiences with COD, MOH, and BF. I walked away feeling far more connected and emotionally drawn into this MOH than any others. Let's start with the negative. First, it is a short game. There isn't much more to say as it took me an evening non-stop or two evenings with food and head stops. Secondly, portions of the game seem to fall behind other games in the form of better developed graphics and physics. Ok that's it...yep I have no other complaints on the single player portion. I have yet to play MP so I will not respond on that. Having fired the majority of the game's weapons in the real world I can say that the feel was solid. Having worked with men and women that work it the world this game tries to honor I walked away proud and somewhat emotional as the game drops the player into events and environments that my brothers and sisters have and are experiencing. Keep in mind that the events in this game, though fictional, are very close to actual events. I have also read complaints about the enemy A.I. and find them to be a bit off. No the A.I isn't perfect but guess what neither is the real enemy…their strength, which is shown brilliantly in the game is the fact that this is their home turf, they have great numbers, and their weaponry (though unsophisticated) is incredibly deadly and very cunningly used. Think about it. If you don't have Apaches, drones, spec ops and their weapons…what tactics would you use? You would do exactly what the enemies in the game and in real life do. They use the terrain, rugged weapons, guerilla tactics, and use swarm tactics from defensive positions, and IEDs. I know this is a game but it is more than that and I salute to developers for honoring that…this is not some Hollywood action game nor is it some glorified war game grasping for shock and awe at every turn. If you're looking for a game that opens a window into the reality of Afghanistan, one that honors what our heroes really do and doesn't shock you into the game with garbage and airport shootings…than you may truly appreciate this game.
