It's hard to believe this came AFTER Frontline.

Medal of Honor Frontline was the first game I bought for my Gamecube. The opening level solidified me on this console generation, my having skipped the N64 and dedicated to the PC for a good decade. I loved the game and still play it two years after completing it, but there was a time when Rising Sun was highly anticipated, and I couldn't wait to play it. Boy was I disappointed.

It may be unfair to compare it to Frontline, so I'll do my best to avoid that, however Rising Sun seems like a cheap knockoff of the Medal of Honor series rather than a legitimate entry. The graphics are muddy. The sounds are horrendous, the aiming is worse and the story is disjointed. A major major flawed game on every level.

Even the great MoH gunplay doesn't save this one, as that itself feels broken at times. The story doesn't even finish, leaving you with a stupid cliffhanger that isn't picked up on, and overall is a disgusting entry into the franchise. It literally felt like a chore playing through this game, but soldier on I did, hoping to find something worthwhile in there.

Avoid it. Fundamentally its a shooter, and those are hard to come by on the Cube, however I'd rather have gone without than bothered with this.
