It ain't Mechwarrior, but it's still fun.

Mechassault is an attempt by Microsoft to make the Battletech franchise more accessible to gamers. It simplifies the Mechwarrior games from the PC, turning Mechwarrior from a mech sim to an arcade shooter. You basically get into a huge Mech and go around and blow stuff up. You can choose from 18 different Mechs, each varying in size, speed and firepower. The single player in this game is not that good. It'll only take about 6 hours to beat on normal. None of the levels pose much of a challenge except maybe the last one because most of the time, you're in the overpowered Mad Cat. The voice acting is ok but could have been better. Multiplayer is fun if you can actually find people on Live. The graphics are superb. Watching a Mech explode or a PPC fly its way to a target never gets old. Overall this game is worth it especially since it's only $5.00 at EB.
