Soaking your head in a vat of acid is probably more fun than playing this game.

First let me start off by saying that this game could have been a jewel in the deep strategy simulation crown. Instead it is a badly put together piece of trash that assumes from the off that the player is an expert economist and political mover and shaker, because absolutely nothing is explained.

You start off by selecting the type of game that you want to play and the country that you wish to govern. In this respect the game does well as you are allowed to take the hot seat of pretty much any recognised nation. Once selected you choose the members of your cabinet and it's straight off the deep end without even a float aid. Those who played Ruler of Nations or the original Geo-political simulator will be familiar with what is going on, the interface and just about everything else, as little has changed beside updated graphics and the game start date. Even the tutorial is identical almost to it's predessesor and just as useless.

The games major failings are that nothing is explained and your cabinet may as well be stuffed dummies for all the use they are. As an example, your education minister may pop up to tell you that your school system is overloaded. There is no explanation ( do I need to build more schools or simply increase the budget? ), there is no set of choices that could serve as an indication of what is wrong, there is no helpful suggestion from the minister in what is supposed to be their field of expertise. So you opt to build another school which will take awhile to complete. Before it is completed the damn teachers are striking for some completely obscure reason which again goes unexplained etc.

The above scenario happens time and time again in different spheres and eventually you will come to the conclusion that soaking your head in a vat of acid is probably more fun than playing this game. For what it is worth I have not noticed many major bugs in the game and it has been crash free but that isn't a blessing as my ears are bleeding from the terrible voice acting. C'est la vie.
