If you didn't like it at first, give it another chance. You will not be disappointed.
1. Choose the Vanguard class when you first start out. In my opinion, it is the most accessible class and it's just a blast to use the pistol and shotgun along with biotic powers.
2. Noveria - It is by far the most frustrating planet filled with the slowest elevators of death! Go their last (you'll see) and by that time, you'll love the game too much to put it down through those elevator rides.
3. Change items constantly= Loot is everywhere in Mass Effect, and you should always equip the best weapons w/ upgrades at all times. It will make combat so much easier and some of the upgrade effects look really nice.
4. Spend some time with the Codec. It's just a lil thing that can make the experience that much better. Trust me, the information here is top-notch work
In all, give this game a try or a second try if you've been repulsed by it before. I guarantee you that it will have you hooked and almost DYING for more by the end.
