Great fun, epic story, a few draw backs....

Overall this was a well-polished, well done game that all rpg fans have to play. After one run through it, I am struck by a few things:

pro: Hands down epic storyline. If you "investigate" the storyline on each character thats like 20 hours of game play right there. You feel like your're in a major movie production and leading the way. Graphics overall are solid, looks a lot like ME1. They got rid of the MAKO, for some that's a major plus. The action elements has a GOW2 feel to them, which I loved, bouncing from cover. Insanity difficulty is "very hard" and if you do a second play through at this difficulty you'll get your money's worth with approaching 75+ hours gameplay for 2 runs. For some the simpler upgrade/armor/weapon schemes will save you time mixing and matching your gear and will be appealing.

cons: Why this has an epic storyline, I felt like i was just watching a movie and honeslty its quite linear. It started dragging when i just wanted to go fight and had to listen to another hour of talking. I think they lost a huge part of rpging by simplifying the armor/weapon. My favorite part of rpgs is loot which you don't get much. The leveling up scheme is pretty lame, you get like 1000 xp a mission which is one level, not really a sense of accomplishment. While the MAKO is gone, at least you could shoot things with it. Scanning planets for minerals is a horrible feature of this game, tedious/annoying should be axed for ME3.

Overall: A high quality game, a gave it an 8.5 because while it was a great game, I felt like so much of it was just a linear story that i was pushing a button for. Some changes from ME1 which I applaud the attempt, but still not quite there. ME3 looks to be great thought as they can see what works and what doesn't. Worth buying as you will get lots of gameplay out of this and on replays you can choose to listen less to the dialog and the top difficulites are brutal.
