Mario Power Tennis takes the game of Tennis and turns it into a unique game with all of your favorite Mario characters.
Mario Power Tennis play a great game of Tennis. There are two ways to hit the ball you can do a normal hit or you can slice it. Also there are two power shots an offensive one and a defensive one. If you use the offensive shot you will do a straight up power and pretty much kill the ball. Defensive hits are better if you are far away from the ball because when you do one of these you'll jump to the ball and hit. The only bad thing about these shots is that they take a fairly long amount of time so if you are in a match that goes on and on there will probably be tons of power shots so it will make it take a while.
The mini-games are pretty fun they are all different. In one you have to hit paint tennis balls to form a picture but you have to hit the right colored ball at the right spot for it to work. The are others but I can't really remember them and they aren't as good.
Along with the traditional courts there are gimmick courts. Each one has some bizare thing that makes them unique. one rotates and another has panels that disapear when the tennis ball hits them. These courts are one of the coolest parts about the game.
Of course all of the normal Mario characters are here. There are the classics such as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy. There are the villians Wario, Bowser, Waluigi, Boo. And there are the other less appreciated character like Donkey Kong, The Koopas, Diddy Kong, and Shy Guy. Each character has different stat points and Power-Shots.
The graphics in Mario Power Tennis are very good there is nothing that will absolutely blow your mind but as far as the Gamecube goes they are good. The sound is awesome the music is great and all of the sound effects rock. Mario Power Tennis is a great game even though little has been changed from the original.
