Mario Party is a fantastic game, despite how old it is. If you have four players, you can really experience how fun this game is. There is a truckload of minigames to play through, and can be played in a proper board game style of play, or can be played as a set of up to seven minigames which need to be unlocked by winning coins in games, so you're rewarded for playing the board game style of play. The sound is awesome, and has music which goes with whatever challenge your playing. The characters are all memorable Nintendo characters though they have no advantages over others, which makes the game even. The graphics are great for the old-gen, and all the areas are colourful and innovative.
Overall, I've been playing this game with friends for almost a decade, and I probably will keep playing.
