A failure----be patient and wait until next year...

This game was a big disappointment to me. I was expecting a LOT more.

Hitting: This, in my opinion, is the only area of the game that is somewhat ok. It makes good use of the Wii remote, and hitting feels natural---at least to me, anyway. One thing that I notice, though, is the lack of line drive hits and hits down the line. But, this may be my fault.

Pitching: The pitching engine is fair at best. I think it's far too easy to pitch, and part of that comes from a lack of difficulty when hitting the strike zone with your pitches. The pitchers, no matter who they are, lack a difference in skill levels. I can routinely hit the strike zone with any pitcher, and can pin-point my pitches. You never see a lack of control with anyone---no matter who it is and how tired he is.

Baserunning: Clumsy and extremely difficult to master. It's difficult to change players if you have more than one guy on base. Sliding is easy enough to do---but you have to thrust the Wii remote forward, which is kind of foolish. And you can't do head-first slides.

Fielding: Fielding is very simple---TOO simple in my opinion. Using the Wii remote to throw is cool, but it's only when you make a "smart throw". Otherwise, you press the control pad for the corresponding base. And there is no "hard throw" option, like in the Xbox version.

Graphics: Absolutely horrible. if you're looking for a polished, visually appealing game, don't look here. The Wii is capable of SO much more, and 2K sports missed the boat big time on this game. The graphics are on par with an original Playstation game, despite some reviewer's saying that the graphics are on par with PS2. The graphics aren't PS2 level---period.

One of the BIG issues with this game is the lack of a decent minor league/farm system. Also, there never seems to be any injuries, no matter how high I jack up the sliders for injuries.

To sum it up, I would wait another year before buying this game. It's not worth $50, in my opinion. I'll play it this year, but unless 2K sports upgrades this game next year, I definitely wiil have to look at other console for baseball games. This game could have been much, much more.
