Not a bad game at it's core, but overall, this is definitely not the baseball game to get for your psp.

Well lets see, I started playing this game and at first I thought it was pretty cool. So let me start with the good. The announcing is awesome. The sunday night espn crew of Joe Morgan and Jon Miller announce this to perfection. It really feels like you are playing a game on espn, as they sound exactly like they do in real life. They talk baseball while you are playing baseball and even sometimes while a play or 2 has happens, they will call the play and then still be talking about the subject. Also, when you pause the game, they take fan mail questions and joe morgan answers them, which can last a while and is actually pretty entertaining. It has decent graphics and the pitching interface is fairly easy to get. Same with batting, although there should be a little better way of guessing pitches, like in mvp baseball. Also, there are a lot of modes in this for those of you who like that. Now let me get to the bad, and oh there is a lot. First of all, the graphics, like I said they are decent. And by decent I mean pretty bad, even for the psp. There are a lot of jagged edges in this game. Now I know this system probably doesn't have a ton of power, but come on it must have at least a little anti-aliasing power. The faces of the players just look like zombies with their eyes whitened out and never blinking. They just look like they are constantly rolling their eyes, very expressionless making all their faces pretty much looking the same and very little like their real life counterparts. The load times are pretty bad, especially going from picking your lineup into the game, although they do have some impossible to get trivia for you to try while waiting. Now for the worst part of this game. The part that will have you screaming, ripping your hair out, cursing your mother and frustrating you to the point of wanting to throw your psp across the room (that is of course, if you are as in tense of a competitor and into baseball games as me). Anything involving running in this game, was really done badly. I mean, anytime a ball is hit on the ground into the outfield, you will likely run right past the ball and it is extremely difficult to get your guy to move in a pattern going to the ball so likely once the ball has gone past you, and it will, you will not be headed straight for the ball. And if by chance you do make it to the ball, you might very well run into your teammate or the wall and by that time, the opposing team has gotten it's 5th inside the park homerun. Now, this is only on grounders. If the ball is popped up, you likely will not see where the ball is until the last second, and then like with the grounders, you will run past it or in front of it or at an angle that will make the ball hit the ground, and then you will chase it again, and another inside the...well you get the idea. Now let's get to the base running. How can I put this without sounding rude to the creators of this game? IT SUCKS! I don't have the time or space probably to type all the reasons why it sucks, but just take my word for it, it sucks. It is really, really, really hard! I think out of the 6 or so games I have played, between the difficulty of running down balls in the outfield and running the bases wrong, I have lost like 4 out of the 6 just because of that. I literally. If this games were anything like most console baseball games, I would have won every game. I mean, I am great at the game, but these things I mentioned just make it so hard, it makes it no fun and not worth playing. You literally will lose at this game due to no fault of your own and it is almost like an unfair advantage that the opposing team has against you because you could be doing great and then all the sudden, it happens. There are more (much more) things that are bad about the gameplay that makes this game terrible, but I will let you find out for yourself, if you really want to waste your money. I say that after having spent $3 on this game brand new, no lie!
