This? A Majesty Game? You must be joking.

User Rating: 3.5 | Majesty 2: Monster Kingdom PC
Those of you who played Majesty 1 probably all have fond memories of building true Fantasy Kingdoms where heroes behaved autonomously with their own personalities and went off on their own little adventures, while the King placed buildings and guard towers, researched technologies, hired heroes, and followed their progress as they fought, worked, and played in the player's Kingdom. Such gamers probably also remember monsters that had there own unique behaviors, creating a world where both Heroes and Monsters had personality.

Well you won't find much of that in Majesty 2. Oh you can still build buildings, and there is still passive control over the heroes, but your range of buildings is now far more limited, and your heroes are devoid of personality, and the monsters are all mindless auto attacking robots disguised as monsters that run straight for your palace without any interesting behavior. Instead of adventuring Heroes now walk around the palace or walk to the nearest reward flag auto-attacking on the way, hardly having any more personality than the lifeless monsters.

Pretty much everything that made Majesty fun and unique is gone, except for the aesthetic theme. The indirect minion control is nothing unique or revolutionary, we've seen it in many games before. Pretty much everything about this game has been dumbed down, to call it a Majesty game seems unfitting, to call it a "Majesty Kingdom Sim" seems just outright wrong. This isn't a Sim Game, it's a very simple RTS game.

Compared to Majesty it can't help but be extremely disappointing and feel extremely lacking.
