Every year that Magic has been out is 1 year I've wasted not enjoying this masterful game.
Magic is AMAZING! What a deep, simple yet impossible to master experience it is to play match after match with the large number of customizable decks. Some complain about the repeated ads for paper Magic, however for me its just a constant nudge to get over my nerd phobia and take the plunge. From a noob perspective, MTG2013 does a great job of explaining the game and warming you up to concepts as they unfold.
The game itself features absolutely amazing artwork, mainly because you're staring at Magic cards the entire time, and their artwork is simply stunning. I can't find a flaw with the visuals for the game, it retains the card feel while still looking slick. I do wish I could zoom in further on the cards than the zoom feature allows, but perhaps next time round.
The absence of customizable decks is kind of a bummer, I was really looking forward to the idea of collection, trading and browsing digital cards in this game. I guess they want me to either pony up for paper or pony up for magic online. Can't fault them for that, it seems well worth it.
All and all, if you're curious about Magic, this is the perfect game to warm you up to the wonderful world of Magic the Gathering!
