I play MTG for over 10 years, so I see the new game from the eyes of an experienced player of the real MTG game. The new version of Duels of the Planeswalkers, 2013, is improved nonetheless from the previous versions but still some old annoying cons have not been fixed.

Pros

1) Improved graphics.

2) Nice soundtrack.

3) Improved A.I

4) Unlocking cards is fun!


Cons

1) Very limited deck customizing. Magic the Gathering IS deck making and still, the developers didn't seem to learn from the mistakes of the past and I can only wonder why. You can only edit pre-made decks and you cannot add any cards from other decks. It is extremely annoying and away from the spirit of MTG. I would have given it an 8 if you could make your own decks but you can't.

2) Few cards for a MTG game, make duels lack in variety.

3) A.I still needs more improvement. In the previous DOTP games, the computer would cheat by getting all the necessary cards when he needed them. This has been fixed a little but still happens.


6.5/10 is fair in my opinion.
