Good, but not Great

User Rating: 8 | Madden NFL 07 PS2
I recently started playing the newer generation Madden for the PlayStation 2. I had just finished playing Madden NFL 2004. Of course there were quite a few differences when I started to play Madden NFL 07.

First off, I noticed that the graphics looked a lot better on Madden 07, this was very impressive to me, the game looked far better from Madden 2004. 9/10

Next, Gameplay. Gameplay was quite the same from 2004 except for a few tweaks. This had actually disappointed me because I was expecting a lot more changes than the ones I had seen on Madden 2004. 8.5/10

Next, audio, I can't say much about the songs, the songs are somewhat the same. I liked the songs better on Madden 2004 because the had more to do with football. But Madden 07 just offers a bunch of stupid hard-rock songs (I'm not saying that hard rock is bad) that clearly have NOTHING to do with football. And for in-game commentary, there was only line of commentary that I haven't heard, other than that, I knew all the commentary almost by heart (I had played Madden 2004 for quite a while now). 7.5/10

The new Superstar mode had impressed me a little bit, I like the camera and how it focuses on your superstar even if I like being a quarterback or a defensive end.
Franchise mode has improved only by the Bruno radio show and the newspaper articles. I liked those features too, too bad they won't be on Madden 08. 8.5/10

Overall, if you are playing Madden 2004 (or any games up until Madden 06) you should probably upgrade to the newer generation of Madden 06,07,08, or 09. They aren't the best football games I have ever played unlike Madden 2K5 or something like that, but they are worthwhile your time.
