Old school RPG that still charms.

User Rating: 7.5 | Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star PSP
Lunar: SSH features all that retro RPGs have, fighters, wizards, clerics, turn-based combat, item shops, gear upgrades and plenty of people to talk to. The pixel art game graphics are supplemented by full gorgeous anime sequences that you can revisit when you manage to buy an item halfway through the game. And talking about items, there are plenty of secret items to explore and collect, true to the spirit of old-school RPG. Boss fights are rewarding but most of the time, combat is a little tedious once you are familiar with the standard routine, and it's very prevalent given the tight level design.

The game is overall appealing to kids in terms of the adventuring theme and back story, and expect some mature stuff here and there to charm the teens and adults. There is little replay value except to get that item you missed out in the first game, but the story and characters would be the same otherwise. If you think 40 hours is worthy for 40 bucks, then you may consider getting this classic.
