The Most Fun ive had with a puzzle game since Tetris. *Japanese Version*

User Rating: 9.1 | Lumines: Oto to Hikari no Denshoku Puzzle PSP
Lumines was the first PSp game i ever got to play with my Japanese PSp and let me say it may just turn out to be the best launch title for the PSP. Graphics- The Graphics are good for a puzzle game but nothing outstanding. The back grounds which are contantly changing however are very vibrant and coloful. Also some times in multiplayer your little icon *Which you choose* Can do some interesting things that are graphicaly pretty however look at it for to long and oyu might screw up =D. Overall the graphics for the game are good to great but dont expect a graphical powerhouse from this puzzler. GameModes- The game Modes conisist of Single Play mode, This includes Challenge mode which is your typical try to get a high score mode. This is where i personaly have spent the majority of the time as i try to et a higher and higher score. Think Tony Hawk 2 where you would always try to get a really high score and break it and that was just fun. Single Skin Mode which has you playing the game however the back grounds and colors change the same thus making it a little easier. And 60/180/300/600 second challenge modes which basicaly let you play for the set amount of time and get the highest score. Next theyre is Versus 2 Player mode which is your head to head basicaly lobby so you can play people localy. I havent had a chance to do this but i can only imagine its tons of fun.Next is Vs CPu mode which is a actualy a lot better then you think. YOu go up against a CPu opponent and your both playing on the same screen but as you string together combos your side of the screen gets bigger *or Vice versa which maks it very tough* and gradualy the oponents you face get tougher and tougher, very Fun.The last mode is called puzzle mdoe and once you figure it out its quite a bit of fun. The object is to create certain shapes using certain colored blocks in a set time limit. For instance it starts easy by having to do a little 5 square cross, however it gets progressivley more and more hard. Sound-The Sound in the game is a double edged sword.Your either going to like it or not like it. Its this japnese upbeet techno type of pop. Personnaly i think you should of been able to listen to your own music of your memory stick however thats not available. Overall though the music doesnt detract that much from the overall game experience. Controls- Put simply there arent that many controls *Which is normal for a puzzle game* and the ones theyre are work perfectly fine. Theyre very tight and responsive, and if you dont like the control you can change anyway you want in the option. The controls are basicaly perfect Overall- Excellent game. This might just turn out to be a must own game for the PSP. I personnaly am not a puzzle game fan and i still got sucked into this game. If youve ever enjoyed a puzzle game and are planning on getting a PSP this is deffinately a must buy.
