PSP Lumines owners beware.....
As a huge fan of the PSP version of Lumines, I was patiently waiting for the LIVE version to be released. The idea of being able to play online sounded great along with updated high scores from around the world.
I had read that the game would be 'incomplete' in it's initial release (ie. only a handfull of levels) but like most others, I thought it wouldn't bother me.
Boy was I wrong.
I initially started with my favorite Lumines Time Attack Mode and was having fun playing that. Everything was going good until I decided to play the other modes.
I finished Puzzle mode in a matter of minutes as there is only five levels. The same happened with Mission Mode too.
I was left sitting there thinking....that was it? It felt more like a demo than anything else.
I then went into the main single player challenge mode and unlocked all the skins in the first run. Again I got that feeling like I was playing a demo.
After all that I stood back and thought - I just paid $15 for a demo of Lumines.....and felt completely ripped off.
I don't think I would have been so bothered if I hadn't already played the original PSP version. But having that advanced knowledge of what's missing really left a bad impression on me as the game feels incredibly incomplete.
Right now I'm wishing there was a way for me to get my money back.
Shame on you Microsoft for selling Lumines in this form. If anything it should have at least included all the puzzle & mission modes and raised the price $5 - $10. Having to pay extra just to have a complete version seems like a cheap way to release the game.
The ramifications are just as bad. I'm now VERY learly of purchasing games from XBOX LIVE. I don't like being ripped off.
If this is how Microsoft plans on releasing games in the future, don't expect me to buy any more online. You just lost another customer.......
