This game is a blatant farce.
However, Lost Planet is not a great game at all. The gunplay is bad, combat skill is useless, the NEVEC soldiers are stupid and the sounds of weapons are weak.
Its storyline should have been better. Lost Planet has a complicated story in which you don't find the truth till the end of it. Nevertheless, you can't feel any connection between the mission and the cut scene, so to say, the arrangement of plot is lack of logic and the some details are missing. The work of transformation makes matters worse. Using keyboard and mouse to shoot enemies, you'll find that the target is automatic. How weird it is.
For me, the worse fault is HP system. It's a commendable attempt that replacing HP by T-GEN which drops continuously as you play. However, this results in two problems.
1. Making the game slow down. I consider that T-GEN is similar to souls which consist in many action games, such as Devil May Cry, God of War etc. The difference is that souls can be absorbed automatically or semi-automatically ( in Onimusha). In Lost Planet, you must touch T-GEN for absorbing it. In order to maintain your life, you have to go around the map to collect them. At this time, you will feel that you're playing a collection game instead of a shooting game.
2. Making the gameplay simple. The more T-Gens, the lower difficulty. The only tactic is that gaining more T-Gens before boss encounters. Fighting bosses don't challenge your skill, but test your patience.
While I'm writing this review, Capcom's the latest original titles Dark Void is heavily criticized. I'm not surprised in the least. What's wrong with Capcom? Although having the top technical capacity, the company gradually loses its creativity with gifted producer leaving it.
However, I hope that Lost Planet 2 will be successful, or the future of this popular game company is woeful.
