Don't believe Gamespots review, this game is a gem leaving you wanting to replay it over and over.

The constant knock-backs only happen if youre bad at the game. It seems people are happy to disregard realism these days, gamespot included, for gimmick. They'd rather accept playing Just Cause 2 when graping to the ground while plunging to your death will save your life as a viable element- BUT they won't accept the realism of being knocked backed by a massive monster.

The animation is beautiful, as it is rich with nuance showing stumbles when hit the ground from height, knocked back from explosions and so on.

They're not wrong about the player ai, but who plays Left 4 Dead alone? It's the same situation here. The game has fantastic co-op and brandishing the game with a 5.5 seems quite steep for this issue.

I agree, don't play this game for the story.

There's nothing wrong with the train level, in fact gametrailers (whos opinion I trust much more) loved it. I think the guy who played it on gamespot is really bad at games.

The controls, although different, have a wonderful scheme. It has what most console games neglect and very necessary a "quick turn-around" but it has been advanced to do quick quarter turns to see what's left or right of you.

Give the game a chance, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

The only qualm I have with this game, is there aren't enough Akrid only levels. Too many shooty bad guys parts.
