Lifeline: The future of gaming

User Rating: 8.8 | Operator's Side (PlayStation 2 the Best) PS2
Lifeline, in my point of view is very good in terms of graphics and sound effects. I also like the fact that this is the first game where the player uses his/her voice to command Rio in the J.S.L Space Station Hotel. I have to give the developers at SCEI credit for setting the stage for the future of gaming, because soon more and more games will require the USB headset or any type of headset suitable to the Playstation 2 in order to issue voice commands. The cut-scenes are well scripted between different characters and Rio. I wish that there was a way for Rio to recognize the player's real names instead of having to call him/her "Operator" because it can get a little repetitive. I really do like the mini-games that can be unlocked when finding 4 chips. I especially like the tongue-twister game because not only does it test your speaking, but it also benefits Rio as well by restoring some of her health. If your fingers are getting tired of pressing all those buttons and analog sticks on the PS2 controllers, I would recommend you give Lifeline a try and find out how much of the game is controlled by your voice.
