All great reviews, but is it that much!?
I bought this game for two major reasons:
1st it's a Valve's game (reputation is there)
2nd it had great reviews all over
But now that I've played for many hours I've made my own oppinion. And for some key reasons I think the game is overrated.
It's an online game experience and delivers much fun in that ground. But for how long really? You get to know all the campains in no time, and after that you have to keep repeating them over and over.
Another problem is that you are playing agains AI zombies, with humans at your side. Of course there's a clever "vs mode" to solve that equation, but for me it doesn't solve it. In the "vs mode" 95% of the time you don't play in team work when you are at zombies side. You just rush to find a place to attack! That isn't much of a thrill to me.
The "survival mode" it's quite repetitive and there's lot's of bugs, when players find spots that will leave them living for as long as they want. Yes, you got it right, they are spots where zombies don't get to kill you, so you just stay there. It's annoying having to leave a map because someone is taking that bug as an advantadge. And of course, many impressive times you might see are based in that strategy.
Finally there's no lag at all, because you simply get kicked by system when your connections doesn't go fast! That's a bad thing for those nights that the internet ins't quite "there". I play all my titles online and this is the only one that kicks me many times, specially in "survival mode".
In the end it's a good game, of course. And it's part of the best fps to play online at xbox 360.
I just have to say that not everything is "that good", and I think it's been overrrated by many reviewers
