Puchased via steam. Cartoonish RPG with mouse 1 spam combat.

Hey people.

Just want to start off that I have been a die hard RPG fan since I fell in love with FF3 for the snes about 18 years ago.
Ill keep this brief, and of course this is just my opinion.

Pros:
- Combat looks good! Spamming mouse 1 makes you pull of some amazing moves. All you have to do is point your character in the right direction.
- Being able to change your class at any time is a great idea. If you get sick of playing a rogue, switch to a mage or warrior or a combo of both.
- Opening cinematic reminded me of LotR, which was well done. You start the game as a corpse which was a neat twist. Personally I prefer more realistic graphics to the cartoon-ish quality that KoA offers. However it is well done.
- Boss fights are fun. But in the end its attack/run/block repeat

Cons:
- Unable to adjust the camera following distance. It took some getting used to but I still find it annoying.
- Switching out gear or checking skills gives you a bland full screen menu. Would much rather prefer a smaller Inventory/character window with mouse over stats.
- The "open world" they advertise doesn't feel open to me. Areas are linear and roughly the same size with connecting paths.eg: [area 1]-[area2]-[area3].
Also your character can't jump. That sounds very trivial but an " open world" should mean just that - open. Go where you want.. jump over things... you basically have to stay on the path they choose for you. You find yourself stuck behind a foot of ledge or a rock.
- There is a crafting system, but why waste your time crafting? You find better items looting. And speaking of loot...its everywhere! Underwater, against a tree, behind some boxes IMO way too many chests that you dont have to work for. Lots of junk loot. To me it made looting ( my favorite part of the game ) less enjoyable.
- Quests are boring. Which seems to be the trend with a lot of RPG/MMO's of late. Go over there and kill that, pick this up bring it back and ill give you a reward. YAWN

In the end RPG fans, KoA is a good diversion until something better comes out. But I find after about 30hrs of playing that I have lost interest. Of course this is just my opinion and yours might be different.
