Crazy 3rd person action, absolutely huge battles and a fun game, all for a cheap price. Very little is wrong with KUF...

User Rating: 9.5 | Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders XBOX
Massive battles, fast action, real time control over an army, dive into the field and fight troops in a 3rd person view of your leader and after it is all done go back to the pub and then upgrade you and your troops for the next fight. All done in one game, Kingdom Under Fire The Crusaders. A mix of strategy, action rpg and 3rd person hack n’ slash, this game as it all, and it is all blended well. Starting the game you read through (if you choose) the background story and basic mission of the game. Taking pick of the first two campaigns available, Easy (Gerald the human) or Normal (Lucieta or something, easier to refer her as Luci part of the dark legion). You start learning how to play, simple commands and such. All boring, until the game starts, then it is action and battles, just learn how to battle first do not be afraid to start missions over again. The game continues with the story and you go through campaigns to unlock the harder campaigns, all very common stuff. Upgrade troops, give them new jobs to be more powerful units, such as infantry into heavy infantry to increase strength and melee. This costs exp. points and money that you earn by killing enemy troops and occasionally performing a task an above expectation. Once you have a feel for the game and know how to command many units at once this game becomes amazingly fun, it has a real sense of power. You are in control. I was surprised by how well this game plays, there can be so much going on at one time, but I have yet to come across any lag. The graphics are clean and the fields of battle are enjoyable. Great music, it switches from campaign to campaign and I actually have tuned it out now, I only hear calls from my units, it is still on I just do not hear it (it is that draw of the game). The voice acting is effective and the none moving heads on mission briefs aren’t even annoying, it is understandable… almost. The cut scenes are cool, not anything over done but effective in moving the story. Overall, this game is structurally solid. If a few problems were fixed and some small improvements made this game could be what I consider a perfect game. Although, you can upgrade your troops and buy new equipment and skills for your leaders you can only goes as far as the number of missions in the game. If you could go back and do missions again (not really possible in real war but,) for extra exp. or cash it would make the game more enjoyable and fulfilling, or at least add side missions that are not required to add depth to the very linear story. That is the only change I would make, the rest of the game is perfect for me. I recommend this game if you do not mind a game that takes more then a few minutes to learn and a while to master. Price for this game is fairly cheap now, I got mine for 17$ at EB.com and for the price it is more than worth it. I look forward to KUF: Heroes.
