An amazing action RPG that's perfect for the whole family.

User Rating: 9.2 | Kingdom Hearts PS2
Kingdom Hearts is the first game with a mix between Disney and Square Enix. You play as Sora, a 14 year old boy who discovers a mysterious weapon called a keyblade, one of the keys to a mysterious world. The Disney characters you'll run into are really familiar. There's Winnie the Pooh, Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Tarzan, and other characters. There are also characters from the Final Fantasy series like Cloud (Final Fantasy VII), Squall Leonheart (Final Fantasy VIII), Tidus (Final Fantasy X), and more. The game has an excellent storyline that is happy and somewhat sad. The music soundtrack in the game is really excellent and is well composed by Yoko Shimomura and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, and fits the game quite well. The game has unique graphics and environments that fit certain Disney characters and reminds you of some Disney movies you might have seen. The voices in the game are out of this world. Haley Joel Osment (Artificial Intellegence) plays the role of Sora, Mandy Moore plays the role of Aerith (Final Fantasy VII), Steve Burton (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children) plays the role of Cloud (Final Fantasy VII), and others. The gameplay is great although there is some trouble with getting items from treasure chests during battle. You can't open them in battle. Also the Gummi Ship levels can be quite frustraiting because when you travel to another world, the Gummi Ship level starts. Thankfully later on in the game, you get a warp gummi from Cid (Final Fantasy VII), so you can travel back to world you've visited without the hassle. The game is well made and you'll feel like playing it through two more times. Overall this is a must have for your PS2 game collection.
