Based on the popular Playstation 2 series this game known as Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was first released on the Gameboy Advance back in 2004 to give fans something new but alot of players had a hard time trying to find the game so now they can get the chance to play it by playing the new remake of the game on the Playstation 2.
The story soon follows after the events of the first Kingdom Hearts game as Sora and his disney pals continue their journey to find Kingd Mickey and Riku as their search takes them to a strange castle called Castle Oblivion where this is place where each of the floors leads Sora to the memory of the different worlds and events that occured in his last adventure as he meets old friends and makes some new enemies as a group of people in black cloaks appear to cause trouble as they have a girl named Namine who has a unique power as she starts to chance memories of someone ever dear in Sora's heart in order for the bad guys to use Sora as a weapon but for now Sora need to figure out the mysteries of this castle if he and his pals hope to recover their lost memories as they continue to stay where they are.
The battle system is in a way like the Kingdom Hearts game iteslf but instead you must trigger the battles with the Heartless by either walking up to them , letting them come to you or just hit them on the heads then once you in a fight you can move around freely which is alot better then the GBA version plus you will fighting different in this title as all your attacks , magic spells , items and even your friends can only be used in card form so you have to use a special deck of cards or even create a deck that is good for you to make your way through the story but remember that you need to know how much card points your deck can take and what cards you can add plus once you beat enemies you can sometimes get their enemy card with a special skill and the bosses also drop their cards so keep that in mind.
Alot of the same features from the Gameboy version follow into the PS2 version but now there are some new stuff like new sleights to master , new cards to collect , a movie player that lets you watch any cutscene that has been played in the game but this is only unlocked once you beaten the game plus there are other surprises that you will have to discover for yourself including a new story mode that is also unlocked after beating the game.
I really liked this game as I have played both versions and I have mastered them both so if your a fan of the series then this is a must have but if your one of the few that never played the GBA version then now is your chance as this one is a keeper.
