Birth by sleep is a prequel to the other games in the series. The story follows terra, aqua, and ventus as they each go through their own unique stories. Unfortunately this means multiple campaigns followed by a final episode. However, lets start with the positives. 1st the story is great and it will keep you going, 2nd this game has the voice talents of both Mark Hamill and Leonard Nimoy( That means that this is a sci fi or fantast game that has both luke skywalker and spock in it) huge props for that. 3rd the boss battles are a lot of fun and the final bosses are awesome. Unfortunately this game has a slew of problems as well. for instance, instead of unlocking abilities throough progression like in previous games you now have to fuse attacks together and hope that by adding a certain type of synthesis item you'll unlock the abilites that you need. This is very annoying. Also the combat has been way slowed down and is no longer quite as fun as in previous iterations. Finally unlocking the bonus cutscene at the end of the game (which this time around is canon and important to the plot overall) is wicked hard to unlock if you play the game on normal difficulty. overall this is still an enjoyable game that I would recommend to anyone even if they are not a kingdom hearts fan.
