A unique shooter, which is definitely worth a check out for a PS3 owner.

So we all know that Killzone 1 wasn't the best game ever. Be honest. So people probably didn't have the highest hopes for this game. Well the good people at Guerrilla proved us wrong! Killzone 2 improved upon the first in almost every way imaginable!

I like how this shooter feels a little different and fresh. It's not just a run-of-the-mill FPS. It feels a little darker than FPS games such as CoD, but not as dark as Left4Dead. The controls are slightly different and the entire feel of the game is different.

Speaking of controls, they take some getting used to. Probably the biggest minus for this game, IMO, is the controls and aiming. They're not necessarily bad, but they do take quite a bit of adjusting. Maybe if you play Killzone 2 exclusively for a while, you'll be completely fluent in them. But for someone like me who doesn't usually commit to one game at a time, this can get a little annoying. The aiming feels a little "off". I tried adjusting the sensitivity, but can't seem to make it right for me.

This game utilizes a nice cover system that I like. It didn't go completely Gears of War on it, but you can take cover near most items.

The Campaign is nice and full of explosions and enery with a decent story to follow.

The Multiplayer is where this game shines, though. It basically puts you all in the match and gives you different objectives to do. That way, the entire match isn't just killing each other or isn't just CTF or anything. It keeps the multiplayer feeling new and making you want to come back for more.
I like how in the multiplayer, they give you the perfect amount of health. In some games, such as Modern Warfare 2, you seem to have very little health in the multiplayer. In some games like Halo 3, you seem to have a lot of health. This game keeps it at a nice balance. It doesn't take all of your ammo to kill someone, but if you've been flanked, you have enough time to respond.

The graphics are stunning. Really great. Yes, graphics are what the PS3 is known for, but this game still goes above and beyond. The world is so realistic looking. You can hardly tell you're in a video game.

Sound design is nice. Speaking of sounds, in the multiplayer whenever you kill an enemy, a little chirp noise plays so you can be sure you killed them. It's the perfect little indicator to let you know you got em'! You'll soon come to love that sound! lol

So overall, great game. A few minor set-backs like controls, but you should be able to overcome that with all the amazing gameplay.
