A classic game that many hardcore players love--but definitely a challenge that not all neo-gamers would enjoy.

User Rating: 8.5 | Kid Icarus NES
Kid Icarus stands as one of the first action RPG games where you gathered better weapons, power-ups, etc. Without the random turn battling of FFantasy.

Now--this game hasn't aged well, and I'll admit that. It's hard, and the graphics compared to the eye candy gamers are used to seeing is shabby. The layout of each level isn't straight forward and there's no in depth explanation on how to jump your character over a chasm. There's also no explanation on how to shoot your arrows at a baddie. This game definitely takes skill and actually forces the player to work through difficult labyrinth like castles, while avoiding incredibly frightening Eggplant Wizards that turn you into an Eggplant. This forces the player to play harder than they probably ever would in a game to find a healing point and turn back to normal. This game is the gauntlet of all platform games. And unlike a lot of games of today, there’s no band-aids to patch up any emotional wounds the player may have taken while playing the difficult levels.

... I apologize for my sarcasm ...

If you can get past the difficult gameplay. This game will probably become one of your favorites. If not... it’ll soon become one of those games you’ll lose your temper to every time you play.

But spend a good week on this game; you'll discover things in it that truly make it a diamond in the rough.

But like I said--it hasn't aged well and for today's gaming audience; it just takes too much platforming skill.

So if you’re looking for some good nostalgia, a challenging game, or a game you can really sink your teeth into--then get this for your Wii.
