Excellent idea, Awful execution

I got this game so i could finally play a co-op split screen shooter with my wife on our 61" DLP connected to the living room HTPC. Our system has a Geforce GTX260, Phenom 9550 and 4GB of DDR2 1066 RAM so it runs every game (except crysis, of course) at 1920x1080 with very high framerates (>60) and with AA turned on.

Suffice it to say that even though this game has 1995 graphics, it has much worse framerates than crysis. It is so slow that it's simply not playable. I don't think even a Tri-SLI GTX280 system could run this game well, unless you consider 640x480 resolutions acceptable. This is mind boggling, since the graphics are horribly dated and by the looks of them you shouldn't need anything higher than an old AGP 4x card to play.

It was also slightly annoying that the game only supports one controller, but this was fixed by mapping my second controller to keyboard/mouse functions. This is still an additional annoyance that shouldn't be there.

This game would get a score of absolute ZERO were it not for the fact that at least they got the right idea with a split-screen co-op shooter game. Now if only they figured out how to properly code a graphics engine...
