Jak & Daxter HD collection... I feel like that sums up everything.

The Jak & Daxter series were some of the best platforming/adventure games of all the Playstation 2's history. Since the first game, Naughty Dog had some very unheard of tech running in their most famous IP. Such as truly open-world game-play, momentum based movement (to where Jak would actually run faster downhill and slower uphill, and his animations would change accordingly). This stuff had never been seen before these titles. And it's always the little details that count.

Naughty Dog is probably the best in the industry at the little touches here and there that help add that extra level of polish on a video-game. A lot of these little details also help make these HD re-imaginings very much playable today, despite how long they have been out. The charming, cartoon like graphics are still viable, especially in HD. Admittedly, the first in the series hasn't aged as well as Jak II and Jak 3. (Thanks primarily to the very low polygon count of everything in the game) But, Jak II and 3 definitely look superb in HD. And if you spent a lot of time on them previously, you'll love going back through all three of these great games again; if nothing else but to take a stroll down memory lane.

All three games hold a special place in my heart. They were all very well made, and are loaded with memorable moments which will make you want to play them all over again. Be prepared to laugh and have a good time once again with a series that really helped shape Playstation's future in the industry.
