I guess Jak 3 should have been a okay ending to the canon series for most people, including me.

First things first, i lost the 1st Jak 3 Review which i did get a good start but now have to start again. In short, Jak 3 basically has the same animation as previous Jak games, melee attacks and gameplay are the same as always and the music is still as awesome as always. Now that that's out of the way. Time for the review!

Jak 3 takes place sometime around year after metal Kor's defeat, this game was supposed to be the final Jak game at least if you believed the video of the history of Jak & Daxter which you can still probably find on Youtube or on that Jak behind the scenes DVD that's vanished from shops (proberly, i don't knowww).

The short story is that Jak is blamed for a lot of crap that's been going on recently in Haven City (the last remaining metal heads are invading the city and KG Death Bots have started attacking the city, turning it into a three-way dance war) Jak, Daxter and Pecker are banished from the city into the wastelands by new character Count Veger (he's not a villain by the way, bonus points if you get what i mean), they're found by Samus of Spargus City, a city in the desert which provides a new environment to play in and a more wider sandbox feel. Now Jak & Daxter have to do whatever they can to survive and oppose the coming threat.

Jak gets new and improved weapons from last time around and the upgrades helps a little more. For example, the Yellow Mods laser targeting wasn't all good and only managed to shoot after a while, this time around the upgrade gives you the ability to shoot anywhere around enemies and the shots deflect off walls for a while and most likely get the bad guys, problem is there's a lot of cool upgrades to choose and it seems like sticking with the Blaster should be the way to go, still you have a peace maker so it's nice to experiment. Unfortunately, various weapons are the problem, there's so many weapons and Natural Eco powers (sp) to pick that it feels like you should just stay with one power/weapon. Plus there's these pieces of armor that are mentioned in the story but finding them doesn't really matter in terms of defence noticeably.

The whole plot of Jak 3 seems a bit of an wonky one, sometimes it feels like a great effort and other times it doesn't. There are several plot holes through this entire series that really start poping up in the latest Jak & Daxter game. Still main characters Jak & Daxter are still the same, Jak the sometimes blank guy with all this angry and Daxter the wise-craker. Still, there's a range of characters so it really could have been nice for Jak to have more happyness in him.

Plus the wastelanders seen in the game are nothing more than enemies and serve no real purpose other than being enemies. This game also showed signs that the plot writers of Naughty Dog started to care less about the Jak & Daxter franchise as they focus on Uncharted and comes into full in Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier (review in two weeks).

Anyway, with it having a fantasy element packed in with advanced technology, the world has a balance of sorts. Plus it has a different version of elves (?) instead of the mysterious ones that pop up everywhere in fantasy today. Onto Haven City, which is basically the fantasy world of Liberty City from Jak II, is all messed up and some areas are still messy too but it's PS2 , so what do you expect? I'd be making a few for a while so i'd have to adjust again, speaking of adjusting 1st timers to this game, will proberly find it a bit hard to adjust to this but it shouldn't at less than 30 mins.

Overall, Jak 3 feels like GTA with elves but slightly less anarchy. Despite some flaws, the plot should have be a pretty alright ending although it could have been better. This should be a fun game for people who buy it or are into action-adventure and sandbox games.
