Sadly, despite a somewhat interesting narrative, and some visually picturesque scenes, this japanese rpg is nothing special. In fact, i got so bored of roaming around the maps doing stupid instance fighting that i never finished the game.

As usual in this genre, the main character Capell is an idiot. Unfortunately, he's even more of an idiot than other jrpg lead characters - making him totally non-compelling. Lots of characters to include in the team is nice, but even so, its a lot of button mashing and asking for healing.

Coming from someone who generally really liked the Final Fantasy series (to indicate that I'm not totally biased against the genre) this game is a waste of time. I'd rather play Mass Effect or Oblivion through for the 5th time. Or Final Fantasy 7 for that matter. Thanks but no thanks. I think I'm retiring from these games with stupid characters. I don't know what the japanese have against protagonists in their rpgs but this just isn't my thing. I'd maybe buy it for a dollar.
