Infamous is a great action game that shouldn't be passed down!

STORY: After a massive explosion hit, Cole MacGrath gains electrical powers. With the aide of his girlfriend Trish and his guyfriend Zeke, he will have to regain the city by fighting off a hostile new gang, the Reapers, led by Bolo Santosi (just joking, total Just Cause 2 pun).

GRAPHICS: Good, not fantastic. This game is EXTREMELY overrated in every department, but the graphics are nice. Civillians and streets all look cityish (is that a word? probably not), which is good, because the game takes place in a city. Cole himself could have used more work. Its a 2009 game, he has little detail. Same for character models, they could have used more detail. The strongest part is the atmosphere and the environment. It looks like a city. It sounds like a city. It smells like a city. It tastes like a city. It feels like- ok you get the point.

GAMEPLAY: Mostly you taking out Reapers with your electrical powers. You must do missions (some are repetitive, boring, and hard) to keep the Reapers away from territory that you have earned. Missions also grant exp. which can be used to buy new powers. Powers are fun and look stunning. Sliding along telephone wires and blasting cars aside is satisfying. Sometimes, unique Karma choices pop up, and you have to choose a good or evil choice. If you are good, your electricity is blue, and civilians love you. If you are mean, your electricity is red (which looks very cool by the way), but civilians hate you, and will throw things at you (I almost died once because people were hitting me). The game is slightly challenging, as there are alot of Reapers everywhere and your health is fairly low. There is never 5 minutes of peace and quiet in the city, you have to work your way up to it, which can take a while. The most fun thing to do though is free-running around the enormous city and destroying things with your electrical powers.

AUDIO/SOUNDTRACK: The ambience and sound effects sound very nice, and voiceacting is also good. There is really no soundtrack, and if there is, I haven't heard too many good pieces.

VALUE: Rent-it first if you are not a big fan of the genre, if you are, buy it, its very hceap now.

OVERALL

Pros: Great city design and ambience, fun and creative electrical powers, huge city to run around in, audio is good
Cons: Somewhat hard combat, missions aren't anything special, lots of unneccessary combat
