Why did SNK ever stop making this series?

User Rating: 9.1 | Ikari NES
I got this game for 99 cents at a game store and beat the game in co-op in one sitting, it took about 4 or 5 hours with a friend.

GAMEPLAY:9

The gameplay in this game is classic shooter, you go up and kill anyone who looks at you funny. The controls are a little sluggish but you get used to them after playing a while. This was the first NES game I beat and if you have a working NES and a friend who will sit through it with you this game will rock. It isn't as fun without a second person but not many things are.

This story was pretty much the same to most shooters in the NES days, especially a lot of SNK games. The story to Ikari Warriors goes like this. You and your friend's airplane has just been shot down and you've been swarmed by your enemies. That's as much as I can remember from the gameplay. The intro just showed Paul and Vince jumping out of a burning helicopter, also I don't have the manual for the game and I'm sure that would explain more.

GRAPHICS/SOUND:8

I thought the graphics for Ikari Warriors were pretty good for a NES game. There were a lot of colors, very vibrant, especially the Paul and Vince's headbands. Their are a ton of enemy models and different vehicles and power ups. The sounds are just the sounds of a gun and the heavy breathing of a partner. I don't recall how good the music was during the game.

PLAY TIME/REPLAYABILITY:9

This game is lengthy if you play it in one sitting but then again you could always use the level select cheat whenever you want to come back and play it. After you beat it the only real reason you would want to come back and play it is to play it in two player. Like any NES games that's about the only reason you'd want to play a game like this again.

FINAL SCORE:9

This game is an awesome find so if you ever see it at a game store or flea market I recommend picking it up. This game is one of my personal favorites and one fun multiplayer game.
