A decent and addicting game

Much like the first Hunter game, the gameplay here is very simple and straight forward. There is somewhat of a story to tie together the different levels, but much like the original Diablo for the PC, this game is all about the gameplay and how it hooks you into trying just one more level with it's fun style of hack and slash (and shoot) gameplay. Not very deep or challenging, but was a lot of fun for me. You pick one of five Hunters to play through what seemed like 20-25 levels, with me picking the title character of the Redeemer to play with. Her weapons and attacks were easy to control, and varied enough for me to enjoy mixing it up in battle. A couple nitpicks: There wasn't enough different monsters - just the same ones over and over again with different color uniforms. Also they only made one version of the cut-scenes; they were not tailored to the Hunter you were playing, and showed all 5 Hunters together, kind of bizarre. Also because of the simple style of play, I found playing more than 1 hour at a time started to make it seem boring. This is definitely one game to play in short bursts in between something else (the slow moving but excellent Fatal Frame 2 in my case). I thought the graphics were great, and the sound was pretty good. I LOVED the ability of being able to jump right back in the action with a new life whenever you were killed - no cutscenes or loading - just push start and continue on - FANTASTIC!!! In summary a nice, somewhat short game cut from that old Diablo style gameplay, and great value for the $20 I paid.
