While the critics may bash it due to its characters and premise, it shouldn't be missed by golf gamers. FUN FUN FUN

User Rating: 9 | Hot Shots Golf Fore! PS2
Gameplay: 3-click swing with some added extras. Some argue that the 3-click is old and all golf games should use analog...blah, blah, blah. Well, the problem with analog, which is used by noteably Tiger Woods and Links, is it is just TOO easy to hit. The 3-click with meter works wonderfully. The sweet spot hit is narrowed when you choose a club that is out of zone (Driver of the deck for example). If you miss it, you'll pay for it with a bad shot. Graphics: Really not bad, rain effects look great. Character models are fine. Nothing that will wow you, but it is still good stuff. Sound: Well, some of the characters lines, as usual, are down right annoying. But on the other hand some are hilarious. I can't believe they didn't fix the sound for when the ball lands in the rough. It still sounds like wax paper. Value: If you play through the single player mode, you will have MANY fun hours of golf. Many more courses and many more characters are available in FORE! as compared to Hot Shots Golf 3. This sells for $39.99, which is fair. I would have liked to seen it at $29.99 as the core gameplay is pretty much borrowed from HSG3. But still if you loved HSG3, you will love playing this through, and if you never played HSG3, its all new...so it is good either way. Tilt: FUN, FUN, FUN! If you love golf, love golf video games, you can't turn this game down. While you might think to yourself "why am I playing this game with stupid characters who make annoying comments?", you won't be able to stop playing due to the rock-solid core controls and golf physics. And isn’t this why we play video games?
