Great for the first 15 minutes, then....

I'll make this short and sweet, in keeping with the game. If you've ever played Turning Point Fall of Liberty then you've played this with different wallpaper. It starts much better than Turning Point, actually showing you the brutality of your enemy and giving you a reason to want to defeat them and bring your character to victory rather than just pointing at them before you shoot and saying "Those are the bad guys, they're all evil and stuff" in obscure and disingenuous ways.

Sadly that's as much of a storyline as they could be bothered to write and the rest of the game is a steady succession of well designed but unengaging levels and pretty thick AI, on both sides. Of course by the time I really began to question the point of the game (having completely forgotten who the hell I was fighting, never being reminded of it for 90% of the game) the end credits started to roll.

Now I take my time playing games, I mean it took me 100 hours of game time to finish the storyline in Just Cause 2 and I'm still only just starting the second area of Far Cry 2 and I've had both games since release and play them fairly often. This game is beyond ridiculous though, I've had erections longer than this (albeit medically assisted).

I really wanted to like this game from the start and some clever gameplay and engaging storyline at the beginning made me think I just might, sadly they didn't use the material they had just like Turning Point and it's a great shame. Multiplayer is fine to rely on repetitive gameplay, single player relies on the story and too few developers pay enough attention to this.
