A truly broken game

User Rating: 1 | Hello Neighbor XONE

The moment I started the game, I honestly was controlling the boy you play as for about 10 seconds before I encountered my first bug of the game. The pavement on the ground started to glitch out. The more I played the game, The more bugs I encountered. Items would either be kicked across the screen or not move at all, Environments would glitch out and things of that nature. It's bad enough that this game claims to be shown in true 4K and yet the graphics are absolutely laughable. And when you add all the bugs and glitches on top of that, It only showcases the start of a truly unfinished product that should have never been released.

As I continued my adventure, I was totally lost. There is no tutorial to explain the controls so you honestly learn everything on the fly. There's only one small graphic on the pause menu to show how to pick up, place items and throw items. This would have been helpful...if the controls actually worked. See another thing I quickly noticed playing is that the controls don't even work half the time. It took repeated presses of the button in order to pick up an item and by repeated I mean about 5 or more times before I was finally able to pick it up. And this was attempted on numerous items in the game to see if it wasn't just the one that caused issues.

Another big issue I have is that there are no objectives. Not even a clue as to what to do in the game or where to go. Honestly, If it wasn't for the guide I looked up, I'd have remained totally and utterly lost. I would not have even thought of doing what I had to do to advance. I was simply dumbfounded by what had to be done, How could anyone expect a run of the mill gamer to figure that out? lmao

Overall: 1/10
Hello Neighbor is simply put: A broken mess. There's a large number of bugs, The controls don't work properly and it is painfully confusing because of the lack of clues and objectives. I think it's nonsense that a game could be released in this state and be called a finished product (and this is all after a day one patch). It's insulting to gamers and this company should be ashamed that after so many years, They still couldn't release anything better than this heap of garbage they call a game. I already contacted Amazon and received a refund for this game.
