For a game that isn't inherently flawed, it didn't make an impression whatsoever.

I was bored, and a friend gave me his copy of this so I installed and started playing it. The game itself is about as mundane and plain as the first sentence of this review. There's notthing bad that stands out about this game (except maybe that you can't map your keys, and that there's no quick-save/load), and yet, the game just doesn't captivate. That said - I managed to play it to the end, which means that the game, at least, is playable. Ok, so the graphics are outdated. Not bad - just not great (which I think for a game of this kind should be a given), the sound is ok - again, just OK. The story is cliched, but that's forgiveable. The pacing is mediocre - and this is the point that is unusual. For a game of this lenght, pacing could have been a little better. Also, the inventory - well, no sorting at all - new items are not highlighted - it's a very, very primitive inventory control and this is a mark of bad design. When buying or selling, you have to drag to and from the inventory boxes. No double clicking - or whatever, no, you have to DRAG! Very primitive. I guess there're some bad things about the game, but honestly, it's not terrible and it's quite playable if you're looking for something basic. Cheers.
