Its not a traditional harvest moon. Which is a bad thing. Dont buy this as youre first harvest moon if you buy it at all

You could buy back to nature wich probebly cost less ,IS better, and is for ps1 (dont ask me how thats good but it is) the festivals are fun in back to nautre (no festivals in Save The Homeland) the game can go on forever (whats that? STH only lasts one year?) basically back to nature is 100 times better. but if you have a gba then buy friends of mineral town! thats Back to Nature + !!! And if you have a gamcube buy a wonderful life to go with friends of mineral town they can link up and you can get new houses and records! Well anyways my point is harvest moon at its worst is Save the homeland. but harvest moon at its worse isnt too bad. So if you cant find back to nature, or dont want to wait for a wonderful life to come out in the us on the ps2 (it will eventually), Or if youre one of the 5 people who dont have a gameboy, buy this game. Its decent. But just dont think of this when you think of harvest moon. all other harvest moons are more free so this is like a sub harvest moon. not the real thing but not something different. you have to try more than one before judging harvest moons. its just that kind of game.
