Best Contra I've played since Contra 3

User Rating: 8.5 | Hard Corps: Uprising PS3
Contra's back. Instead of Bill and Lance (Blue guy and Red guy) making Red Falcon GTS, you have Bahamut (The bad guy from Contra Hard Corps) and Krystal (with others), taking on The Commonwealth. The word "Contra" is missing but hearing the theme at the title screen says it all: It's Contra

Graphics are well drawn. The same people who did the graphics for Guilty Gear/Blazblue did this game as well. Backgrounds are well detailed. Also, the characters have different color palettes as well. Bahamut has a color scheme that makes him look similar to the original Contra characters.

Sound. The music's not bad. Hearing the characters smart remarks after certain parts (defeating a boss, reflecting enemy fire, etc.) is a nice touch.

Controls are very responsive. Able to change them to your liking in the options menu.

Gameplay is good. For the classic Contra fans, there is Arcade mode. If you like to power up your character, rising mode is for you. You can put the Konami code at the title screen but it'll just show that you can purchase 30 lives so....not...helpful.

Replay Value: You might play it a few times after beating it. You won't get all the trophies because no one's ever playing online.

Overall: Great game. One of the best games on PSN. Wouldn't mind seeing a Ninja Gaiden game (the side scrolling style) or even Strider in this fashion.
