Nostalgic and not being able to play the simple contra like Hard Corps and earlier ones like Contra Force, one has to buy this game. The price is fine for the repeat play value.

This version of contra reminds you of all the previous contras, specially the Jungle stage and toward the end it seems like connecting to the Hard Corps Alien ending.

There are elements from previous contra, the Armored doors, the music too resembles. If you had liked any of earlier contra scrolling style, you will love this one also, apparently if you have hated any of them like Contra: Legacy of War, then also you will like this one.

Graphically, since it's a 2D-3D kind of a same, it looks charming, with all the colors and brightness.Eight stages in all with two playing modes makes sure that you will play a lot. The rising mode gives you the ability to upgrade the player and learn the pattern of enemy while the arcade mode has to be played in one go.

This game has every thing to keep you involved, although the story could have been a little more indulging and detailed, while the waves of enemies are many a times same so it tends to get boring.

Trying to achieve all trophies/achievements is one hard task, since Arcade mode is relatively difficult one you upgrade your character to 100% in Rising. mode. Between the two default character Bahamut and Krystal, both are quiet similar with minor difference in special abilities.

Even if you are able to open all trophy/ achievements, you can always buy two more playable characters which I personally fell is a little costly but will surely mean repeat play.

To sum up, buy this game if you have a pal to play with or if you play co-op online, since it's fun, and couch/single console(i.e without connecting two or more console via LAN etc) multi player games are very few these days. It's simple, it's fun.
