There was way too much hype for a game which is simply an High Definition upgrade.

Halo 3 essentially proves that Microsoft can instill frenzied anticipation over a game which is essentially an High Def upgrade. The graphics engine is the same as the last 2 games and sometimes it shows. It is comparable to an average PC shooter, but like Halo 1, it's not going to look impressive in 3 years. The single player still uses the same copy and paste method from the first 2 games. Only this time its on a machine that can handle it without frame rate hiccups. (the original X-box was the equivalent of a mediocre laptop in 2001) You still just shoot everything on the way to your destination and the respawned enemies on the way back. Co-op makes it playable, even though it forces widescreen TVs to go to 4:3 mode. The multiplayer has a few changes. If it did, maybe Halo's X-box Live players wouldn't make me want to play with the head phone off. Honestly, go buy the Orange Box instead. It has 5 games for the same bloody price as Halo 3. Then again, the Halo fans are probably going to bad mouth that game even though they have never played it.

Oh well. It's your choice, Mister or Miss consumer.
