Still A Good Game but...

Blue Shift is just like Half Life but you play as a security guard for Black Mesa. This is a good expansion pack, but doesn't really grab the attention a great game should. I let a friend borrow Blue Shift and he didn't really become interested in Blue Shift because the plot doesn't really pick up. Rather than doing alien and soldier shoot ups you spend a good amount of time on puzzles. First Person shooters are meant to be fun with action and sometimes a puzzle here and there but this is filled with them. This is a very difficult expansion pack to enjoy but some may enjoy it while others do not. I like Blue Shift but it needs to grab player's attention better. Between Opposing Force and Blue Shift, I would get Opposing Force. But I got Blue Shift because it was included in the Half Life 1 bundle so I can't really say anything bad about that.
