Guitar Hero The First Note

User Rating: 7.5 | Guitar Hero PS2
Guitar Hero 1,

A fun interactive game in which you have a guitar shaped controller equipped with 5 frets (Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange) a start and select button on the scratch pad a strumming bar where you would normally pick the strings a whammy bar and if you tilt the guitar whilst playing a song it activates star power for more points.

The first of the GH Series includes 47 Playable songs, I will give my opinion on every single song in the game.

You start off on your own cover band Career playing all these songs.

I Love Rock 'n' Roll – Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
This song is easy even on expert, A good song to start off the game with too.
I Wanna Be Sedated – The Ramones
Expect to get 100% 5 stars on this song on any difficulty however on expert mode i recommend strumming up and down.
Thunder Kiss '65 – White Zombie
A very cool song, Fun and easy to play.
Smoke on the Water – Deep Purple
This song does go for a long time and is very simple and easy.

Ziggy Stardust – David Bowie
A slow and simple song to start the Return of the Shred set list.
Fat Lip – Sum 41
This one is a bit tricky to get used to but nothing you couldnt handle.
Cochise – Audioslave
Get your strumming up and down technique ready again, A hard song.
Take It Off – The Donnas
Arguably one of the best songs in the game, Certainly the funnest.
Unsung – Helmet
Constant chunky riffs of nothing but power chords.
Spanish Castle Magic – Jimi Hendrix
Time to burn some frets off that controller in the Fret Burner set list.
Higher Ground – The Red Hot Chili Peppers
A great song and it's fun to play too.
No One Knows – Queens of the Stone Age
A hard song but passable.
Ace of Spades – Motörhead
Everyone has got to love this song and its easy to play on expert.
Crossroads – Cream
Nice song very fun and challenging.
Godzilla – Blue Öyster Cult
The Face Melter set list starts off with a pretty easy song.
Texas Flood – Stevie Ray Vaughan
Here is a challenging song once you get the hang of it it's easy.
Frankenstein – The Edgar Winter Group
Hard but once again play it enough youll do ok.
Cowboys from Hell – Pantera
The hardest song on the game, Congratulations if you pass it on Expert.
Bark at the Moon – Ozzy Osbourne
Only just easier than Pantera's Song, But still very hard.

That concludes the game's Main Set List,
We now move on to the Bonus songs of the game.

Fire It Up – Black Label Society
Simple, Easy, Boring Not a good way to start off BONUS songs.
Cheat on the Church – Graveyard BBQ
Winner of "Be a Guitar Hero Contest" and rightfully so, Hard but good song.
Caveman Rejoice – The Bags
I dont know how to explain this song, Just play it.

EUREKA! Another easy song.
All of This – Shaimus
Cool song, Dance to it whilst playing.
Behind the Mask – Anarchy Club
A medium difficulty sort of song.
The Breaking Wheel – Artillery
Maybe the worst song on the game, Sounds like a garage band.
Callout – The Acro-brats
Thank god it doesnt get worse, A good follow up song.
Decontrol – Drist
Even better, Strumming up and down will help you ALOT in this song.
Even Rats – The Slip
This song seems to go forever and is very easy.
Farewell Myth – Made in Mexico
I dont know why they felt it neccesary to put this song in but....
Fly on the Wall – Din
Here is a good song, Medium difficulty.
Get Ready 2 Rokk – Freezepop
Pretty Hard song.
Guitar Hero – Monkey Steals the Peach
A song about the game that you play on the game and you play that song on the game...wait what?
Hey – Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives
A nice easy song.
Sail Your Ship By – Count Zero
A horrible song, I just dont like it it is easy however.
Story of My Love – The Model Sons
OK IS THAT THE LAST SONG? IT IS? AWWWW :(

Yep thats it only 47 songs to play but it was fun whilst it lasted, You can always go back to the songs youve already done to improve on your score and also you can challeng your friends in multiplayer however in this game you can only play certain parts of the song and then you wait for your opponnent to play a part (it gets annoying)

Stuff you might not know!!
These songs had profanities that had to be censored in order to manage a T for Teen rating (Heart full of black) (Fat Lip)
There were 2 Songs that didnt get used in the game, These can only be unlocked through the use of a PlayStation 2 cheat device, such as GameShark, Code Breaker or Action Replay (Graveyard Shift) (Trippolette)Im told if you move the guitar around whilst playing it generates more points but i have tried and dont see a difference.

I would rate the choice and selection of songs a 8/10
I would rate the graphics of the game a 6/10 Not bad to start with.
The Difficulty depends on how you choose it however Expert in my opinion is still very easy but there is only 5 frets.
The game hammer on's and pull off's are very difficult to get used to.
Star Power fails to deploy if there is a fast section of the song playing.

This game might not have been great but it certainly made me wonder if there would be a number 2.

Thank's for reading my review
